5 tips on how to NOT let other people hold you backThis is a message of uplifting, of empowerment, of love, of connection, of hope and understanding.

Times are always uncertain, certainty is never a given. Now, we live in an extra special time during this crisis and what I’ve noticed are one of two things:

1)  Entrepreneurs that only see impossibilities, people who get angry and bitter because the ‘old’ way of doing business is no longer an option. People with a lot of opinions and expressing them without thinking.

2) Entrepreneurs that go look for other possibilities, people that go into full service to make a contribution to these roaring times. They see options.

What happens in the first group is simple; they feel threatened. And I can truly understand that. They live in a world now where everything is even more uncertain than it was before, and they may even lose their business. A business they worked hard for, spent countless hours in building that. Maybe they have greater responsibilities in their business such as paying their employees, maybe there are financial difficulties or maybe they just spent money on a large investment. And maybe they were doing great before this started or maybe they’ve always been struggling. I understand that this whole situation can make people feel scared and incredibly fearful.

But, when you know why someone does what he/she does, it gives you power to be empathic in the way you respond (or don’t respond).

5 tips on how to NOT let other people hold you backThe way I see it is there are two choices.

One is stew in anger, disappointment and hurt, watch how other people step up their game, watch how your own business is becoming less and less. To sit back and do nothing and project your feelings of hurt onto others. Other pioneers that are creating options for themselves, their business, their employees and their families.

Or, grief that they old way is no longer working, see and feel the emotions and pain that the situation is causing, let it pass through you so you can accept it move on. When you can accept the situation as it is, you can look for other ways to structure your business. Your mind is open for other possibilities, other options, other ways of being of service. You can let other people in to help and guide you through this transition.

Because that’s what it is. A transition. It’s a real possibility that things will never get back to the way they were before. And I don’t mean to say that to make you feel scared, but to help you.

When I look at my own situation, when Corona first hit I too was scared. It may not appear so but I really was. I felt scared and insecure about if there would be enough money to support my business, to pay my freelancers and to support my family. I know this stems out of and old belief that comes from my mother. And because I know that, I was able to work with these emotions and then snap out of it.

What I did was talk to my clients, really listening to what they needed NOW and then look for a way to help, to go into even higher service. And that is exactly what I did. My business was 85% online already. But for a lot of my clients, that wasn’t the case.

First, I created a programme that teaches entrepreneurs to switch from an offline business to an online one. So that they wouldn’t be one of the entrepreneurs who would lose their business. A way for them to keep revenue coming in to support themselves and their families. It was created with the most loving intentions and to going into full service. All the entrepreneurs that went through the programme already see the fruits of it.

Clients can work one on one with me to guide, coach and mentor them on a personal and business level to get through this crisis. Because now, even more than before, resilience is important.

5 tips on how to NOT let other people hold you back

And I’ve created a special masterclass where I share my 3 strategies on how to do business when times are uncertain.

Yes, I made revenue with that. And there is nothing wrong with that. The thing is that the entrepreneurs out of group one, are acting out their frustrations, limiting beliefs and fears on the second group of entrepreneurs.

I’ve witnessed it myself. When I communicated about what I was doing, I got a lot of negative comments from people. Because I’ve been in business for quite a while, I know how to deal with that, to not let it get me down and certainly not hold me back.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t judge. What I feel for those people is nothing but love and compassion because I know the roots of why they do what they do.  It is just unserviceable to keep yourself in that mindset. It is not helping anyone. Not yourself, your business, your family and certainly not other entrepreneurs.

Just know that I see you, and I feel you. Just know, that if you’re one of the people who feels scared out of their mind, it doesn’t have to be this way. You too can thrive and have abundance. And that is what strikes me.

Because the effects are becoming more and more visible. What I hear and see is that great entrepreneurs with a great service, a great product that we need right now are scared to present their offer because they fear the comments.

And so they don’t do it. They keep their gift from the world. Their incredible service, their knowledge, their skills and more.

And I get that, but, it’s also pointless. That attitude is not helping anyone. You don’t win when you hold someone else back. You don’t win when you let the fear of other people affect what you do.

What does make you win is to start looking and exploring options for everyone. Ways to uplift each other. To want others to succeed, to encourage others to explore possibilities during this special time.

Because if you can truly root for someone else, really wanting to see them succeed, the chances of you succeeding increase as well.

That is why I give you 5 tips on how to NOT let other people hold you back.

So you can bravely move forwards.

1) Believe in your product or service.

Believe that your product or service help other people. Look through the lens of possibilities and service.

2) Believe in yourself.

You have the tools, you have the knowledge, you and what you do and bring are important. You know your talents, you know the qualities of your product or service. And know that no matter what you do, there will always be people who will give comments but there are way more people who will support you and be your cheerleader. So give that people your attention.

3) Use the power of music.

You can use music in two powerful ways. One is to sing and jump out your frustration. The other is, use music to support and uplift you. That puts you in a positive mindset, in a can do attitude, that brings back your joy so you can take inspired action. Like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoSzXV2GwG0

4) Surround yourself with people who support and uplift you.

Your environment can make or break you. And in these times it is so much more important to surround yourself with people that uplift you, support you and want nothing more than see you succeed. You become who you surround yourself with, so surround yourself with optimistic and likeminded people. A safe place to share your ideas, a place for support and encouragement. Because you need to be brave and show courage in these uncertain times. If you don’t have such a group, you are more than welcome in our tribe of uplifters.

5) And DON’T READ THE COMMENTS.

If you don’t have anyone on staff that can do that for you, look into your network, find someone that isn’t bothered with it and ask them to read and delete them for you. So you won’t be faced with it.

Yes revenue will be made during this crisis. As it should! Because don’t forget that it’s through the taxes we all pay, our government can help and support the people, businesses, hospitals and caregivers in the way they do now. So, look for ways to support local businesses, look for ways to support your clients.

I know it’s not all sunshine, rainbows and unicorns right now, but, what can you do to support, to help and to be of service.

As Marie Forleo says: “you have a special gift the world needs.”

Now maybe more than ever.

And that message is for EVERYONE.

Let’s make the world a better and more beautiful place.

Much love Els.
